DESCRIPTION AND PURPOSE OF CHANGE:
PLX has implemented a metal mask change to the PCI 9054 device. The changes involve adding several gates to fix errata
present in the PCI 9054 revision AB silicon. The PCI 9054 revision AC is pin and function compatible with the PCI 9054
revision AB. When operated in M-Mode, the errata fixes affected the AC timing characteristics of a subset of the local bus
signals, which may affect a small number of designs. Technical details are available in the PCI 9054 AB to AC Conversion
Document available on the PLX Technology web site.
To aid our customers in the transition from revision AB to revision AC, PLX Technology will continue to accept orders for
the PCI 9054-AB50PI (PQFP packaged device) through April 1, 2003. Last time buy orders must be placed no later than
April
1, 2003 for delivery scheduled no later than October 1, 2003. A transition date has not been established for the
PCI 9054-AB50BI
(BGA packaged device) at this time. PLX will notify customers if, and when, they should begin to qualify
the AC
revision (BGA packaged device) for existing designs.
