Functional Diagram
General Description
The HMC465 is a GaAs MMIC PHEMT Distrib-
uted Driver Ampli鏗乪r die which operates between
DC and 20 GHz. The ampli鏗乪r provides 17 dB of
gain, 2.5 dB noise 鏗乬ure and +24 dBm of saturated
output power while requiring only 160 mA from a
+8V supply. Gain 鏗俛tness is excellent at 鹵0.25 dB
as well as +/- 1 deg deviation from linear phase
from DC - 10 GHz making the HMC465 ideal for
OC192 鏗乥er optic LN/MZ modulator driver ampli-
鏗乪r as well as test equipment applications. The
HMC465 ampli鏗乪r I/Os are internally matched to
50 Ohms facilitating easy integration into Multi-
Chip-Modules (MCMs). All data is with the chip
in a 50 Ohm test 鏗亁ture connected via 0.025 mm
(1 mil) diameter wire bonds of minimal length
0.31mm (12 mils).
