General Description
The FAN5109 is a high-frequency driver, speci鏗乧ally
designed to drive N-Channel power MOSFETs in a syn-
chronous-recti鏗乪d buck converter. This driver, combined
with a Fairchild Multi-Phase PWM controller and power
MOSFETs, form a complete core voltage regulator solu-
tion for advanced microprocessors.
The FAN5109 drives the upper and lower MOSFET gates
of a synchronous buck regulator up to 12V

. The
FAN5109鈥檚 output drivers can ef鏗乧iently switch power
MOSFETs at frequencies above 500kHz. The circuit鈥檚
adaptive shoot-through protection prevents the MOSFETs
from conducting simultaneously.
The FAN5109 is rated for operation from 0擄C to +85擄C
and is available in a low-cost SOIC-8 package.
