THE CUSTOMER SERVICE ELECTRONIC BULLETIN BOARD

Burr-Brown maintains an Electronic Bulletin Board Service
(BBS) for the convenience of all customers. The BBS is a
valuable tool for accessing information about Burr-Brown
and Burr-Brown products.
This document is intended as a reference to the file exchange
features of the BBS. The initial sign on procedure for the BBS
is covered, then downloading files from the BBS public
software section, and lastly the procedure for attaching and
receiving files in the private mail section.
LOGGING ON TO THE BBS
New users of BBSs should first familiarize themselves with a
personal computer communications software package and
their modem. Procomm, CrossTalk, Reflection, and White
Knight are a few of the more popular PC communications
packages.
The Burr-Brown BBS operates 24 hours a day. The modem
number is
(602) 741-3978
operating at
2400/1200/300 baud
with
8 data bits/no parity/1 stop bit.
When the user connects
via modem to this number, the BBS log on screen will be
displayed on the terminal as shown in Figure 1.
The first time users log on to the BBS they are asked to
complete a survey. The type of terminal the user has is
determined in order for the BBS to be able to properly format

displays transmitted to the user鈥檚 computer. Several common
terminal/terminal emulation types are listed to select from. If
the type of terminal/software program in use is not listed, the
user should type
<CR>
and answer the questions as shown in
Figure 2.
Next, the user is asked to complete a survey, as shown in
Figure 3, followed by a display of the BBS user rules and
restrictions. Once registered, BBS users are given full access
to the BBS through the main menu as shown in Figure 4.
