-FX930 device integrates complete traf脼c management functionality (queuing) and
scheduling. The Prestera-FX930 is a Fabric Access Processor (FAP) forming the ingress and the egress interfaces
to a switching fabric. The FAP connects to the switching fabric through eight independent, 3.125 Gbps, bi-
directional serial links, providing 20 Gbps bandwidth to the fabric. In the egress direction, the Fabric Output
Processor (FOP) receives cells from eight independent, 3.125 Gbps serial links, providing 20 Gbps of bandwidth to
the fabric. It reassembles the cells into packets in external DRAM and sends a packet descriptor to the Prestera
device, which subsequently reads the packet. The FAP contributes to the fault-tolerant scheme of the Prestera
fabric chipset by building and maintaining a distribution table re脽ecting the fabric topology.
