InGaAs APD Pre-Amplifier
Description
Designed to provide high optical
performance for ITU-T G.652 standard
optical fiber and ITU-T G.653 shifted
dispersion fiber.
The Alcatel 1922 DMO consists of a
gold-plated, 14-pin, hermetic package,
containing a reliable InGaAs APD
(Avalanche Photodiode) and a custom
designed preamplifier. A thermistor is
mounted in thermal contact with the
APD metallic support, allowing a
precise evaluation of the device鈥檚
temperature. Optical signal input is via
a single mode optical fiber, coupled to
a 30 碌m diameter InGaAs APD.
Included is an input power monitor, for
applications such as loss of signal alarm
generation. The Alcatel 1900 DMO
module family includes field-proven,
reliable, InGaAsP PIN or APD
photodetector with silicon pre-amplifier
in an hermetically sealed package.

STM-16 (Long-Haul & Very-Long Haul)
and OC-48 (Long-Reach & Very-Long-
Reach) discrete interfaces. These
modules ensure ease of use and offer
new flexibility to system designers for all
types of transport.
